Ron Bandur In Memoriam

Written by Security Door Controls | November 14, 2025 at 10:41 PM

Sadly, a valued member of our SDC work “family” – Ron – passed away last week after a brief illness.

Beginning in 1994, Ron applied his electrical engineering degree to the proper, real-world application and installation of our electrified access and egress control hardware in support of our many stakeholders’ requirements. As his career progressed, he became the backbone of our technical support team in application assistance, troubleshooting, system design and providing expert answers to virtually any product question based on his unsurpassed knowledge and experience.

In 2013, Ron announced his retirement, yet he remained an integral member of our SDC family on a part-time basis, managing our International Sales & Support on-site and remotely up until his recent passing.

Prior to his association with us, Ron was - an Atomic Weapons Specialist! - for the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany for two years. And, he gained industry experience working with an industry competitor for a year before setting up shop with us for the last three decades.

Ron leaves behind a loving family: sisters Cheryl, Debbie and brother Darrell, as well as various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dee several years ago. The family has scheduled a service to honor Ron on Monday, 11/24 @ 2pm at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks – Griffin Memorial Park in Westlake Village, CA. Ron will undoubtedly be missed by more people than we can possibly know. We are very blessed to include him as a valued member of our SDC family.

Love and Godspeed Ron.
